1963 Lotus 23B
A stunning example of unanimously adored Lotus 23B.
Raced in South Africa from 1963 with Aubrey Gunning and Luki Botha. Located by Lotus collector Jannie van Aswegen and sent back to the UK to be restored by former Team Lotus mechanic Cedric Selzer.
Subsequently owned by Dan Margulies before being campaigned by Spanish racer Jesus Costa Cuguerella, already in the black livery with yellow stripe seen today.
Raced further by Bob Birrell and Chris Jolly, subsequently entering the current ownership in 2008 and Maintained by Gelscoe Motorsport since.
Driven by Andy Newall to outright victory in the Madgwick Cup at the Goodwood Revival in 2016.
Accompanied by current FIA HTPs and benefiting from the Huw Taylor/L.H. Owen built Lotus Twincam engine and the Racing Transmissions built Hewland Mk8 gearbox.
Eligible for a number of historic racing series including the popular HSCC Guards Trophy, Masters Sports Car Legends and Peter Auto’s CER 1.
Lotus 23’s are often in long ownerships thanks to their well-handling nature paired with the powerful yet straightforward Lotus Twincam engine, and now 23-S-46 is available from its own 15 year current ownership.
