Description:

Benetton made seven B198 cars for the 1998 season, this is chassis # 01. They were driven by Giancarlo Fisichella and Alexander Wurz.   It was designed by Nick Wirth with technical director Pat Symonds.  They used the Mecachrome 3.0L V10 engine, (later badged as a Playlife).  It has a 6 speed paddle shift semi automatic gearbox.

The results for the 1998 season show Alexander Wurz qualifying 6th but spinning off after 42 laps in this car.

It has Brembo 6 pot calipers with carbon discs, Dynamics shock absorbers, the original carbon wishbones have been replaced with new steel ones to make it safer and more cost effective to run for the private owner.

The current owner bought it in 2016 with a Judd 4.0L V10.  It was then converted it to a new Judd 4.2L in 2019 with a new exhaust system, Life F90A electronic management system and Tilton carbon clutch.  All the suspension was crack tested and rebuilt, the shocks and all the braking system was rebuilt, the gearbox was rebuilt with all new gears and new diff output shafts. It has a new clutch and new fuel pump. This car only has 36miles since having all the above work done.

It comes with a spare nose cone, spare low downforce tail and side pods, another set of original side pods, a low down force rear wing, spare set of wheels, and misc spare parts.

It has an external engine pre start water heater and external starter motor.
