2001 Lotus Exige # 475 Series 1. VHPD – 1 of 13 originally imported by LOTUS into Australia. Only 7 remain. This car has an original 6200km ONLY.  In 2001 car was bought new by its first owner through "Demealions Sydney" who were the sales agent selling the original Lotus cars in Oz.   It was registered in NSW and maintained by the Lotus Race Team - Peter Landen Motorsport from 10/03/2002 to 07/07/2002.  
It was first complianced in June 2001 and was purchased and rego'd on the 7th of September 2001.  It was mothballed after July 2002 and sat in a shed for many years before it was sold to a well-known Lotus Collector in Sydney where it sat alongside many other rare “Loti” for about the same length of time.  
In 2001, of the 8 cars that were sold to buyers in Australia (of 600 cars worldwide), from the original 13 imported (1 was crashed), the remaining 5 unsold cars were shipped back to Japan. This car, # 475 is the only CAMS Log booked 2B fully engineered and road registered S1 Exige with VHPD engine that exists in Australia. Its had a very extensive "clams off refresh" which is now all but complete!
# 475 is resplendent in its refreshed paintwork code B36 - New Mustard.  Its still in amazing and excellent condition with a minimalist Charcoal Suede, Black carbon, grey cloth inserts and aluminium trimmed interior.  Rare  lightweight carbon CompositeWorx race seats equipped with Schroth 6 point racing harness for driver. Std factory belts also. 

Car comes with a choice of rim and shock combos.  Its pictured with the TMR light weight wheel set but also has the original set of six-spoke double-arm rimstock Exige alloy wheels.  Factory staggered setup that gives it 16-inch diameter front wheels and 17-inch diameter rear wheels. The front and rear wheels as pictured are wrapped in Nankang AR1 DOT competition rubber.  They have not been roaded.  A choice of shock absorbers are also included as per the wheel option.  For driving pureness – it’s a gocart with doors.  It also has the radio/CD delete option.

Under the hood is the factory spec 1.8-liter K-series VHPD (Very High Performance Derivative) inline-four, sending power to the rear wheels through an ultra-close ratio five-speed manual transmission. Officially, they claimed output to be 190 bhp. The car runs a Motec M4 Engine management system. 

New parts are extensive and include a full engine rebuild by Lotus Officianado Neil Trama with engine build Sheets , refurbed motorsport ½ shafts,  battery, brake slave cylinder, brake pads, slave cylinder support bracket, engine oil and filters, new radiator, AC regas, new shocks and springs $10k, new tyres etc etc. Brake and clutch fluid flush.  Car also has removable steering wheel, line locker and brake bias.
