Rochdale GT from 1959 prepared for historic race, rally, hill climbing or perhaps long distance touring or events. Fibreglass body, doors and bonnet.

1.5 litre Coventry Climax FWB engine prepared to race spec with approx 130bhp.

Built over five years between 2007 and 2012 with no expense spared. A photographic record of this build is included.

The chassis is Ford Popular with modifications for racing, a full rollcage is attached. straight cut gear box, Lotus 11 front discs with magnesium calipers, LSD in the Austin Metropolitan rear axle.

Current tyres are new road legal Avons on the 15" wire wheels. There is a spare rear wheel.

Inside there are Speedwell guages and seats, Les Leston Steering wheel and gear knob, Halda Speedpilot, Heuer Monte Carlo stopwatch and vintage race tickets.

The harnesses and plumbed extinguisher are now out of date for racing purposes.

Unfortunately there is some damage to the drivers door as it was caught reversing out of a trailer! The fibreglass is cracked off at the bottom edge, currently held on with tape as in the picture.

Recently given a service and overhaul by Classic Performance Engineering at Bicester to make it roadworthy, or indeed ready to hit the race track.

Eligible for some serious historic GT racing including Goodwood. The car ran at the Goodwood Revival Meeting in 2013 where it showed great promise until it suffered a punture. The roll cage bears the original scrutineering stickers.

MOT exempt and currently taxed (free). Used extremely sparingly in my ownership, covering no more than 150 miles since 2019, all on the road.
