Description:
I’ve owned this 1987 Bmw e30 m3 for 8 years now and imported it myself from Japan. It had done 163,000 km and (currently the same).
The car has its original ID/vin and is uk registered and the V5 in my name.
Originally in metallic black. Body was in great shape with no rust and no previous damage (some panels still reading original paint). Idea was to build a grp A/ dtm car.
Car was completely stripped placed on a rotisserie and a full roll cage was build by Nickson motorsport including shell strengthening.
All panels are original to the car apart from the front wings, which were brand new sport evo wings.
Originally it was a sunroof car, now replaced with a non sunroof roof skin. It’s an original BMW roof skin which is rust free/ dent free & fitted to factory spot welds.

Muzzimotorsport dtm weld in seat belt mounting point. Welded on the rear parcel shelf and other brackets removed, as per grp A/ dtm cars.

Muzzimotorsport brand new dtm ally solid gearbox mounts with all fastenings like the original cars.
Muzzimotorsport carbon dtm front bumper (different to the original bumper, lower to the ground), not painted, that’s the only part on the car that isn’t painted. ( major weight reduction compared to original bumper)

Brand new bmw gearbox mounting bracket.
Rebuilt LSD diff (looks like new) by “Gareth Purves” 3.25 ratio with 30° drive ramps and 45° coast ramps, running three clutches, which gives 60% drive lock and 40% coast lock. Clutches, pinion bearings, seals, gaskets, external bolts, Speedo sender etc are all new too. With an e36 backing plate and a double ear mounting to the body, solid ally diff mounts.
Rear trailing arm modified with weld in camber and toe adjustment tabs with derlin bushes fitted, Muzzimotorsport solid ally shorter dtm subframe bushes.
Complete car loom, untouched.
Continental brand new 110L fuel cell with metal cover. With period correct fuel insert in the back panel plus outer cover.
Brand new still in box electric heated front windscreen.

All new bearings were used on the hubs.

Period Original genuine Bmw motorsport grpA/dtm complete front suspension, uprights/ shocks/ knuckle/ hub/ spring/ height adjustable top mount/ with all original dtm wish bones and uni all/spherical arms and tie rods. Rear suspension alone is also grp a/dtm.
Original bmw motorsport grp a/ dtm centre locks complete front and rear with drive pegs/ securing mounts, centre lock nuts, socket and safety pin.
Two sets of centre lock wheels, both 18inch and both have been refurbed.
All original glass windows, not light weight.

2.9L Köhler s14 engine which I recently bought locally, I’ve been in touch with Köhler and he has confirmed a new original 2.5L dtm competition block was used in the build. 48mm throttle bodies, fitted with slide throttle, 8 fuel injectors/ 4 of them into the carbon airbox and running a dry sump set up. There’s many factory motorsport parts on and in the engine.
I have many pics of the engine when it was inspected by a bmw specialist, they removed the sump and checked all main bearing/ bolts/ bore and rods etc etc, a compression test was done and readings were great. Engine was then run for a view test days but not in anger. It was also dyno’d and made 320bhp at 7rpm, Lennart Köhler said the engine is good for 8k rpm all day long making 360bhp. I understand these can produce 420bhp at 10k rpm. Just fitted an Italian 4 into 1 dtm spec manifold. I have videos of the engine running and in testing just before it was removed. I also have contact details of the previous owner and the Bmw specialist who inspected the engine which I’m happy to pass on.
The car is like new, as it’s never been driven or had an engine fitted. It was painted and under sealed by a well established Bodyshop.
All new nuts and bolts were used and all parts were either refurbished / powder coated or replaced with new ones.
This build currently owes north of £120k plus without counting my hours & labour. it just needs engine/ box to be fitted and plumbed in, wired, brake lines, fuel lines, oil lines and few minor parts to be purchased like a radiator, fuel pumps etc.
The list goes on and on as I have been doing this project for years. I have over a thousand pictures of the build from start to finish so it is best to get in touch and view for yourself.
