Description:
This 1964 Semi Lightweight Jaguar E Type was built by a collector of E Types. The decision was made at the start to ensure detail matched performance and using a new Martin Robey steel monocoque the owner commissioned an aluminium bonnet, doors and louvered hard top and boot lid. At that point using a Sigma engine as a base the car was taken to top historic race car preparation specialists, Wren Classics. They commissioned the car for the owner with invoices on file for approaching £40,000.
The engine retains its cast iron block and straight port cylinder head allowing it to run in most pre-66 GT racing including Peter Autos and Le Mans Classic. The gearbox and axle have been completely rebuilt to top race specification at successful Jaguar E Type race specialists, Roxwell Racing.
The car is now presented race ready and unused bar one track day at Goodwood where it posted a best time of 1 minute 27.6 seconds showing it is now a competitive race car.
