New BMW e46 Compact Race car 1120kg 245BHP 2.8 M52 powered

Built by Chris @ CR MTECH MOTORSPORT for Himself but due to health reasons, he is no longer able to drive it. Was 1st built with a 350BHP M3 motor but that was sold and replaced with the 328 engine to make a more affordable car to sell, but the running gear remains and is very capable, reliable and strong coming from a E46 M3

400 hours went into the build inc,

Bare shell build on a spit, all seam sealer, sound proofing and unwanted brackets removed, all paint removed from floor pan and inside arches, Rear axle mounts strengthened.

Full weld in Roll cage with harness bars, double door bars, roof extra bar and front strut tops tied in

Floor pan and full shell painted in Ford Frozen white with BMW Hell Red interior and cage, nice combo and the red always looks cleaner inside than the white when dusty etc.

E36 M3 3.2 wiring loom, stripped to the absolute minimum, with Motorsport chipped ecu M3 3.2 ABS (can be switched on / off and re booted on the fly. the e36 wiring is simple, light and reliable without any can bus issues, 

E36 M52B28 engine with US M3 cams. M3 3.2 exhaust manifolds and big exhaust system, M50 inlet manifold. New TTV lightweight solid flywheel and OMP paddle clutch plate, DTA 80 Pro management with variable launch rpm nob and button on handbrake to activate, Twin map switch to switch maps, ie wet / dry. But at the moment there both dry full power maps, would need rolling road tuning to setup the wet map if needed.  Digi dash with working fuel level, rpm, oil pressure, water and oil temps, battery voltage, shift lights, warnings and an additional flashing fuel low warning light.

M3 3.0 5 speed ZF gearbox with Z3M shifter, M3 3.0 prop and Full E46 M3 rear axle with 3.62 LSD, new rear brakes with performance pads

Hydro handbrake with parking lock 

E46 M3 brake master cylinder and servo

E36 M3 3.2 radiator system all new with silicon hoses and new Spal Fan

E36 M3 3.2 oil filter housing with oil pipes and oil cooler

New BC coil overs

New front wishbones with HD bushes, New rear adjustable camber arms and fully poly bushed throughout

Huge 8 pot K sport front brakes with floating discs and 2021 compound British Touring car pads as new.

Huge Front anti roll bar

Quick rack with new ends

Poly engine mounts, uprated box mounts 

Electric kill switch, full fire extinguisher in date.

Full E46 M3 Fiberglass front end inc custom wings to fit the compact

Huge GT3 Rear wing, Areo catches to bonnet and boot, Poly windows though out, inc front screen that is a plastic for performance scratch resistant one, cost £700 alone

Rear arches are Fiberglass M3 front molds to match the fronts, then switched around to fit the rear, the rear arches have been been tubbed and widened to take the big wheels and tyres, we have had 10J ET0 18's with 265 tyres on the rear without issue 

Cobra Susuka bucket seat and harness all with loads of date left, a passenger seat could still be fitted.

OMP steering wheel , front splitter board and canards. M3 mirrors,

8 BRAND NEW 2F 18” x 9 J Et20 Forged alloy wheels - cost £2000, 4 are still in there boxes, the 4 on the car are fitted with Nankang AR01 track tyres, with plenty of life left.

Twin fuel pumps, all braided brake lines, odyssey race battery and holder, light weight wiring loom, E36 dash.

Car weighs 1100kg, with 250 BHP estimated (we haven’t had it on the rollers but the previous owner said engine was at 250 bhp) that engine was damaged in a crash in its old car, so we have stripped it and fitted  the US M3 cams, M50 inlet, M3 manifolds, loom and dta to a 70,000 mile 1998 328 auto engine that then went into this new build,  the engine has had new rocker gasket, oil filter housing gasket, water hoses, thermostat and housing, water pump, plugs, race oil and oil filter, engine mounts, clutch and flywheel.

The car is not road legal, - has Lexan windscreen and no Horn or number plate lights but everything else is there working, ie lights, washers wipers etc,

Engine sounds super nice, extremely responsive, car feels tight to drive, predictable, grippy and ready to go

Has now completed 2 track test days at Oulton park and Donnington, the car works great in both wet and dry conditions, by only adjusting the suspension settings that can be done in very quickly, the car has ran faultless for the 2 full days testing and is easy to drive. The brakes are simply epic and with the motorsport abs its so easy.
