The VJM08 introduced a productive upgrade to the F1 noses previously seen in the sport. In 2015 the team added 'nostrils' to the nose, creating a B specification of the race car - these were first seen at the British Grand Prix - and were two distinctive vents that aided airflow. The nostrils worked by feeding the lower section of the car with air. They were designed to abide by regulations which previously stated the cars could not feature vents that were entirely open.
When viewed from above you cannot see the ground through them, whereas when at a 45-degree angle you can. The nostrils also allowed easy crash test approval. This ex-race car was once driven by Sergio Pérez during the 2015 season - a strong year for the Mexican ace. It features a selection of original race used components and parts, bringing the action of the race tracks directly to you.
Included on the car are race used sidepods and engine cover as well as a race used front wing. It also features original gearbox, brakes and callipers. Inside the cockpit you'll find the original seatbelt, used by Pérez. The car also boasts the original radiators, oil coolers and fuel tank, and has the original race used floor too.
How the car performed The 2015 season was a strong one for Sahara Force India F1 Team with the constructors finishing fifth in the FIA Formula One Constructors World Championship™ collecting 136 points. The driver line-up included Sergio Pérez and Nico Hülkenberg, who each finished ninth and 10th in the Drivers' Standings.
The B-specification chassis' aerodynamic package meant the VJM08 could qualify well and race very competitively on the high-speed late-season courses such as Spa-Francorchamps and Sochi. Pérez also claimed a third-place podium behind the wheel of the VJM08, at the Russian Grand Prix.
