Ford Fiesta XR2i race car for sale. Campaigned by me in the 750MC Armed Forces Race Challenge (and other events like the Birkett Relay) since 2015, and would suit any similar series as it is just below 180bhp/ton including driver which is a common class boundary.

 

Shell/interior: 1993 mk3 Fiesta XR2i with V5. Full cage including harness bar, fibreglass bonnet. Poly windows with sliders and vents. Lightweight doors with new doorcards. Cobra Imola seat with in-date Turn One 6pt harness. Spare seat for passengers included. Battery box in cockpit, Lifeline fire extinguisher new in 2022. Heated front windscreen on timer relay.

 

Engine/transmission: 2.0l silvertop Zetec from an early Mondeo, built in 2020 with a fully refreshed bottom end, new rings and shells etc. Head gasket and cambelt changed in mid-2022. Runs on Millers CFS 5W40, changed every second event. Piper 285 cams, with Weber 45 DCOE carbs and MBE mappable ignition. Stainless exhaust and Toyosports manifold. Set up by Troy at Northampton Motorsport, 175bhp with rolling road printout. Gearbox built by Penguin Motors; BC gearbox using 3rd-5th from a Puma 1.7 to give a close ratio, evenly spaced box. 4.27 final drive and 3J plated differential. Gearbox refreshed over winter 22/23. Vos Engineering shifter.

 

Suspension, brakes, tyres etc: Leda/Gaz double adjustable coilovers at the front, rebuilt in early 22 with 350lb springs. Compbrake rosejointed wishbones, adjustable top mounts. Gaz single adjustable coilovers at the rear, rebuilt in early 23 with 600lb springs. Rear axle was blasted, powdercoated and polybushed about 4 years ago. Front and rear strut braces. Rare closer ratio Fiesta RS Turbo steering rack. Front brakes are Sierra RS500 calipers with J-Hook ST150 discs and CL RC8 pads. Rear is original drums. Bias pedalbox with adjuster on the dash. Dry wheels are 7x15” Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 with Toyo R888Rs, wets are alloys with Uniroyal Rainsports.
