Description:

In mid 1972 the March Works Team abandoned the failed 721X concept and produced the 721G by converting existing 722 F2 chassis to F1 spec.  The result was much more competitive cars for Ronnie Peterson and Niki Lauda.  The 'G' designation refers to the Guinness Book of Records, because the whole project took only nine days.

On this car every effort was taken to produce a period correct example 721G on an exisiting 722 chassis, # AM 72-47, using genuine March drawings and processes.  

Phil Reilly built a period correct long stoke DFV with many new parts (crankshaft, rods, pistons, valves, pumps, etc). 

A correct Hewland FG400  was recently re-chromated and rebuilt with new R&P, new limited slip, bearings, shafts, etc.  Correct Girling calipers were located and rebuilt, 4-piston fronts / 2-piston rears.  Correct replica cast magnesium wheels (2 full sets).  All fuel and oil lines are teflon lined with crimped fittings for modern fuel durability.

Multiple wins and top placings in Master-USA competition in the Stewart Class for 1966-1972 F1 cars. 

Spares included:

The 2nd set of one piece wheels noted above, plus mounted rain tires on 3-piece BBS wheels; New bodywork cockpit / nose section in gelcoat; Front wings in both wide and narrow configuration; New driveshafts.

Additional spares available: Ignition Spark Box, Lucas electric high pressure fuel pump, new Slade gear reduction starter motor, Lucas metering unit service parts and tools.

Has received a new FIA HTP papers, valid through December 31, 2033

Car is available for viewing and inspection at Sonoma Raceway in California.
