‘Parker’ KIEFT CK54
Description:
- 0ne of the most successful 500cc F3 cars in period.
- Owned and built by Don Parker in 1954 and raced by him to 2nd overall in the 1954 championship by half a point to Les Leston.
- Competed in period with the likes of Reg Bicknell, Jim Russell, Ken Tyrell, Austen May, Ivor Bueb and not least, Stirling Moss!
- Owned by Parker 1954-69
- Known ownership through to 2011 when I acquired the car.
- Previous owners had modified the car (not unusual) and shortly after ownership I undertook to have the car professionally rebuilt and returned to the original specification, the work being driven by experts in the field, Charlie Banyard-Smith, and latterly Jan Nytz. The work was completed in 2019 and the 500 Owners Association confirmed and revised the Vehicle Identity Form (VIF) accordingly.
- Fitted with C&R Longstroke Norton engine coupled to a Norton 'dolls head gearbox'.
- Unused by me since acquisition the car was tested at Donnington Park and Mallory Park by Gordon Russell, 500 owners Circuit Racing Secretary, prior to being invited in 2019 to the Goodwood Revival where he took 2nd place. He later claimed 'this is the best handling 500 I've ever driven!'
- A piece of history for sale here, in beautiful condition, welcomed at any race meeting.
- A highly desirable and collectible car.
