The car was developed by Volvo together with Jens Edman and built by Volvo's racing department for the series S60 Challenge. In total, they built approximately 24st cars most of which now goes in International racing series.

The Challenge cars are built on S60T5 cars and have following modifications:

Relieved and reinforced body
KBT racing cage
Tuned engine with about 300HP, with Volvo motorsport sw, Oil trap in the oil pan, oil cooler in the front, lightened flywheel, clutch Motorsport, Racing Exhaust with racing cat, reinforced engine mountings.
Tractive dogbox gearbox, close ratio Tractive LSD

AP brakes front 355mm with six-piston racing callipers.
Other link arms with uniballs in front
Rear suspension with uniballs and special toe-in rods
Öhlins spring struts, with two-way adjustment (newly renovated)
Challenge front spoiler and rear wing.

The car has recently been fitted with a sprinkler system Fogmaker to run international competitions.
This car is in a very well preserved condition and has only been a few races with famous drivers such as: Calle Rosendal, Tina Thörner, Tommy Rustad, Janne Flash Nilsson and Prince Carl-Philip

The car is very well built and reliable and is therefore suitable for endurance race, Circuit Racing and Club Racing.
