This is a very rare steering wheel which fits both the F40 and 288 GTO. However, it’s not a wheel that was fitted to the cars as they left the Modena factory. Instead, this leather-trimmed three-spoke steering wheel created by MOMO was in fact designed and created specifically for this special event only. On the back reads; MOMO MADE IN ITALY TYP V36 KBA 70064 followed by the date stamp 03-89.

FF40 limited edition framed programmes for the event are also very rare piece’s and comes with the steering wheel making them a perfect collectors set.

The FF40 event:

Back in September 1992, a fantastic event was organized in Belgium by former racing driver Jacques Swaters to celebrate the forty years of his garage, Ecurie Francorchamps. The event was called FF40, FF standing for Ferrari Francorchamps. Hence the rare moniker etched into the lower spoke of the steering wheel.

He invited owners of the most celebrated Ferraris to bring their cars to Belgium for the weekend with cars on display in the Parc du Cinquantenaire in Brussels on the Saturday and a track day at Spa on the Sunday.
It was an event that people still talk about today, such was the importance and excitement.
