History:

Built in 2012 by Garrie Whittaker for Classic Thunder.  Raced four times, with class records at each of the circuits it raced at.  Quicker than everything except a 900bhp Nissan Skyline.  Garrie wanted to beat that Skyline so started a V8 GTR E36 build, and sold this car to me in 2013.

Raced by me twice in 2014 BARC NW Sports Saloons Championship:
- 2nd in Class A in first outing at Donington (1:17.8).
- 2nd in Class A again at Anglesey (wet)

Not raced since 2014 due to a health issue, but have done five track days in total since then

Latest track day earlier this year: the car ran faultlessly

Spec:

E36 four-door shell (lighter and stiffer than two-door), acid dipped and all coating removed
T45 cage
Fibreglass doors, bonnet, and boot
Poly carbonate windows all round
Nitron remote reservoir dampers
Rolled and flared arches with modified inner arches to allow lower ride height
Currently set up with a ride height of c90mm, but can be lowered down to c40mm if desired
M3 engine, untuned, unmapped, standard except for carbon airbox
Helix clutch
Short shift gearbox
E30 M3 diff case (stronger than E36)
AP Racing brakes: 6-pot front, 4-pot rear 
Fuel cell (42 litre)
Motorsport dry cell lightweight battery
Driver's seat on motorsport spec adjustable runners
Motorsport pedal box
Removable steering wheel
Claimed 1,026kg with fluids (sub 1,000kg dry) - last weigh-in was 1,060kg
Runs 18" wheels with slicks / racing wets
Two rear spoilers:
- white supertouring model fitted
- optional large carbonfibre black spoiler never used by me but reckoned by Garrie to be worth 0.4s a lap(!)
