First launched in 1993 as a homologated road car, the Lister Storm was powered by one of the largest V-12 engines ever fitted to a production car at that time: a 7.0-litre unit derived from the Jaguar XJR-9 that raced in FIA Group C campaigns. Four examples were completed before production of the road-going Storm ceased. The Storm was subsequently developed for motorsport in various guises, with this GT example joined alongside GTL, GTM, and GTS models.

This Lister Storm GT, chassis number GTM005, was built in March 2001 and entered by Lister Racing in FIA GT Championships in 2001, 2002, and 2003 as a factory car, securing five podium finishes in that time. It finished 2nd at Silverstone and the same at the Spa 24 Hours in 2002, followed by 1st place at Anderstorp and 2nd at Monza in 2003.

In 2004, Lister Racing sold chassis GTM005 to Fournier Laroque, of French team Red Racing, which campaigned the car with Lister factory backing in the FFSA GT Championship during 2005 and 2006. Their best result was 1st place in race one at Pau, and the Storm would take 2nd place at Dijon. The car crashed during qualifying at Albi in September of that year. It was rebuilt using an original chassis from another Lister Storm, identified as GTM001, retained by Lister after its own crash at a car show in Italy in 2004 (in which the chassis was not reportedly damaged).

In 2008, in the ownership of Gravity Racing International, the car was invited to and attended the Goodwood Festival of Speed, one of few times the car has been seen in public in recent years. The car is presented for sale in the specification it wore in 2003, with the exterior refinished to feature the same livery and show the #14 it sported when crossing the finish line in pole position at Anderstorp of that year. The original damaged GTM005 chassis is offered with the car. Also included in the sale are large amounts of documentation and paperwork documenting the history of the car.

Dévoilée en 1993 comme voiture de route homologuée, la Lister Storm était propulsée par un des plus gros V12 Jaguar ayant jamais équipé une voiture de série : un moteur 7 litres dérivé de la Jaguar XJR-9 ayant participé au Championnat FIA Groupe C. Quatre exemplaires ont vu le jour avant que la production de la Storm de route ne cesse. La Storm a été ensuite développée pour la course automobile sous diverses formes, comme cet exemplaire GT, en plus de versions GTL, GTM et GTS.

Cette Lister Storm GT, châssis n° GTM005, a été fabriquée en mars 2001 et engagée par Lister Racing au Championnat FIA GT de 2001, 2002 et 2003 comme voiture d'usine. Elle s'y est distinguée en décrochant cinq podiums : elle est notamment arrivée deuxième à Silverstone et aux 24 Heures de Spa 2002, avec en 2003 une victoire à Anderstop et une deuxième place à Monza.

En 2004, Lister Racing a cédé le châssis GTM005 à Fournier Laroque, de l'écurie française Red Racing, qui l'a fait courir au Championnat FIA GT de 2005 et 2006 avec une assistance de l'usine Lister. Le meilleur résultat obtenu a été une victoire lors de la première manche à Pau, puis une deuxième place à Dijon. La voiture a été accidentée pendant les qualifications à Albi, au mois de septembre de cette même année. Elle a été reconstruite en utilisant un châssis d'origine provenant d'une autre Lister Storm (identifiée comme GTM001), conservé par Lister après un accident en 2004 lors d'un événement en Italie (au cours duquel le châssis n'aurait pas été endommagé)

En 2008, appartenant alors à Gravity Racing International, la voiture a été invitée au Goodwood Festival of Speed et y a participé : une des rares occasions où elle a été vue en public ces dernières années. Cette voiture est présentée à la vente dans ses spécifications de 2003, avec la livrée et le numéro 14 qu'elle portait quant elle a franchi la ligne d'arrivée en tête à Anderstop. Le châssis GTM005 est vendu avec la voiture, ce châssis est accidenté. Un important volume d'archives et documents témoignant de l'histoire de la voiture est également fourni.
