Description:
The Arklay Austin 7 Ulster Special is a very competitive car. It still holds 13 Bert Hadley Hill Climb records at various events and has outright wins in three of the original 750 mc Tripple Challenge races.
The car is based on a 1936 long wheelbase Austin 7 chassis, a Chris Gould replica Ulster body, bowed front Axle close ratio gearbox and 5.25 back axle.
The engine is a two bearing side valve Austin Seven with a high compression Alloy head, wedge shaped pistons, large inlet valves, 1 1/2 inch pheonix crankshaft, pressure fed shell bearings, high pressure oil pump, Jack french camshaft, lightened flywheel and close ratio gearbox. Runs on 15" tubed radial tyres, hyraulic brakes, and hydraulic shock absorbers. Currently runs on a 1 1/4 SU carb but can easily converted to twin 1 1/8 SU's.
Full road Going equipment, 12 volt lighting and MOT for touring between events.
