John Corbyn Motors Jedi 6/005 - Chassis number 144.

Not used since full “nut & bolt” refresh and conversion to dry sump.

Car is Dave Tilson’s championship winning car from 2007 and is on the button ready to join the burgeoning F1000 grid with 750mc in 2021.

Chassis

MSA homologated tubular steel space frame chassis. This proven design, with an excellent safety record, includes a MIRA tested MSA certified ROPS (Roll Over Protection System), built-in front end crash structure, removable foot box protection, side impact bars and anti intrusion plates. Chassis fitted with stressed aluminium panels for extra rigidity.

Suspension
Fully adjustable unequal length wishbone suspension with double adjustable coil over Jedi Racing spec shock absorbers.

Brakes
2-pot AP/Brembo calipers front and rear onto solid grooved discs. Ferodo brake pads.

Engine
Dry Sumped 1000cc Suzuki GSX-R1000 K5 (standard) with 6 speed sequential gearbox. Fitted with Jedi Racing competition exhaust system and wiring loom.

Final Drive
Chain drive to Limited Slip Differential with electrically operated reverse gear, competition drive shafts and drive flanges.

Bodywork
Removable GRP 7-part system for ease of replacement and cost effectiveness.

Aero
Aero package includes high downforce, fully adjustable, front and rear twin element wings, front splitter and rear diffuser.

Wheels
Lightweight aluminium split-rims.

Cockpit
Carbon dash with Farringdon quick release steering wheel, stick shift, fully plumbed-in fire extinguisher, six point harness in date.

Purchased with grand visions of me becoming the next “Senna”, but old age and lack of driving talent have struck home and made me realise I’m far too old to be putting myself into a missile!

Car was purchased by me from Ray Forward back in 2018 as “ready to go” – He wasn’t lying – The car was beautifully presented and a credit to him I must say!

But, me being me, I decided I wanted to tidy up a few odds and sods - This then resulted in a complete strip down, shot blasting and powder costing of the chassis, reassembly, (during which the engine was converted to a brand new Jedi dry sump system and alloy catch tank).

The fuel injection system was then upgraded from black hose and jubilee clips to what in my opinion is a more race fitting Aeroquip set-up, and the exhaust was sent for Cam-coating to improve efficiency and reduce engine cover temperatures.

Water system hoses have all been replaced with Samco Sportand Racetech silicon hoses and quality stainless steel clips.

Suspension geometry/ride heights etc. all set up as per instructions from John and Fraser Corbyn (They know!)

Car has a power commander and GiPro gear indicator fitted along with the Stack dash which has fuel pressure, oil pressure and oil and water temperature monitoring.

Clutch cable replaced with Jedi “touring car” item – much heavier duty and better feel.

Car weighs 328Kg with oils and fluids.

The rebuild was completed in 2019, but then a very good friend asked if I’d repair his accident damaged race car, so the Jedi went into dry storage and has remained there ever since!(His car is still in my garage awaiting completion).

I don’t believe you’ll find another car with the same spares package anywhere!

Brian James trailer –the little one that fits into a standard size garage – Minno? This had brand new tyres fitted when I collected the car back in 2018 and have covered less than 500 miles.

The car itself with a set of genuine Jedi wheels and race used slicks. (OK for initial testing I’d hope?)

Three further sets of genuine Jedi wheels – one with a set of race used wet tyres. (Emergency use only, but still very soft!)

Further set of wheels with race used intermediate tyres.(Soft but as per the above, testing/emergency use?)

Brand new set of Mamba transport wheels and tyres for use when car is put onto trailer.

Spare Suzuki GSXR engine complete with injection as removed from motorcycle, and another complete engine disassembled for further spares.

Spare engine cover (Originally for an R1 powered Jedi, but could be fitted to this car.)

Spare front wing.

A box full of things such as a spare clutch assembly, front and rear sprockets for changing the gear ratio, front and rear uprights, drive-shafts, exhaust repacking material, numerous sets of new Ferodo brake pads.
