Ford Cortina track car

1968 1600 DL registration title.

This car was track converted in the 90’s, last time used was in 2005. It has been stored since and is in great condition, chassis and floor areas are in great untouched condition. The body is also very good for its age, nice and straight.

I have had this car for over a year now and was planning on converting to Historic track spec, I haven’t found the time though and have just purchased a race ready historic Avenger..hence the sale of the Cortina.

Below are some specs that I can see and have been informed:

·         Lightened & balanced Kent engine, 126Hp/155Nm (dyno report 2019). I have no knowledge of the internals.

·         IDF 40 carburettors & 4 branch exhaust manifold, I was told that changing the carburettors to horizontal type will gain 10+Hp.

·         Short shift gearbox, no idea of ratios.

·         4-linked & watts linked English axle, Lsd with 5.1 ratio. Quick of the mark.

·         Large disc brakes at the front, 13” rims will not fit.

·         Disc brakes at the rear, no handbrake.

·         Adjustable coilovers suspension at front and rear.

·         Safety fuel cell.

·         Battery moved to the boot.

·         Roll cage.

·         Bronze Perspex rear window and rear side windows, door windows are original glass.

·         Heated front screen brand new and still in the box, this can be bought as an extra if required for 750€.

·         Electric fuel pump.

·         Electric cooling fan.

·         Lightened Boot lid.

·         Fiberglass front wings.

·         The bonnet in the photos is damaged due to the wind catching it (very light and flimsy), I will fit a very good standard bonnet prior to sale.

I was very surprised when I first drove this car on how quick it feels, real fun car to drive.

The seat in the photos is not included, it will be supplied with a standard Cortina seat.
