I thought this day would never happen. I am not pleased about selling this car.
This is my ‘bucket list’ track car, I have been building it since retiring; I bought the car from a UK Mitsubishi dealer as a standard FQ360 road car with 1000 miles on it (6 months old) 11 years ago. I have owned it and treasured it ever since.
This car has never been raced; I have only used it for track day fun, mostly at Silverstone and at Castle Combe Circuit where the car is very well known. The car is road registered, but currently not completely road legal, it is SORN. I have not driven it on road in many years; it has been kept as a dedicated track car.
It has never been crashed. It still has all its original factory paint. It has had 11 years being driven on track, it is not absolutely imaculate, it has a few little scuffs and odd paint chips that you would expect. It has not been resprayed anywhere, so what you see is what you get. A very straight car. For a track car, it is in very good condition, mechanically excellent. It has been continually improved and maintained to the highest level in recent years by Norris Designs the Mitsubishi Evolution experts in Wiltshire. I am not a mechanic, nor am I an engineer. I have used professionals to do all the work on this car. I have receipts to show that this car has been maintained professionally with no expense spared.
The reason for sale is my increasing age and ill-health, I am approaching 64 years old and I have a health condition that means I have to give up driving this car. I have decided to sell the car so that someone else can enjoy this amazing specification. It has been built for my own use over the last 11 years, no one else has ever driven it.
it is a stunning high specification Track Car, however, the car is very close to current race scrutineering requirements, it wouldn’t take much work to make this a very competitive ‘Sports and GT’ race car, it would also be ideal for the ‘Time Attack’ series.
Just before Covid-19 lockdown, Norris Designs had finished a winter refresh on the engine top end. With new Supertech inconel exhaust valves, they machined and cut new valve seats, fitted new seals etc. They fitted a new ND Fire Ring Head Gasket and remapped it. (Graphs attached to show mapping)
Due to Covid-19, I have only driven the car once at Castle Combe on 31st July 2020, since being rebuilt. It has only been used once in over a year. The car has been lightened as much as possible, it handles with amazing agility, and I am always impressed by the turn in, the front end is very pointy, but without introducing oversteer. The engine is ballistic, and with my age and subsequent heath, I have to be honest, my reactions are no longer up to the requirements to drive a car this fast. It is astonishing to drive. I hope someone can take it on to a new level.
As I will no longer be needing it, I have a Brian James 4m Blue car trailer I used to tow the car to circuits. This I bought brand new about 5 years ago. It is in excellent condition. This will be for sale also. Could be sold together if required.
