Description:

2000 Porsche GT3R

WP0ZZZ99ZYS692066

The original tub of this car was ordered by Orbit for Leo Hindery.   The car was damaged in testing before the 2000 Daytona 24 Hours.  A new tub was ordered from Porsche and Orbit proceeded to prepare the car for competition.

This car was updated in 2003 to compete in the 2004 Grand Am season.  The car was updated to 2004 GT3R specifications including bigger brakes, wider flares and wider wheels on all 4 corners.   Uprights and control arms were updated.

I drove this car part of the 2003 Grand Am season.  We finished 3rd at the Watkins Glen 250 Mile race in August of 2003.  We ran VIR later that year as well as Daytona where we had a cooling issue and did not finish. We then campaigned the car for the entire 2004 Grand Am Season.  We had a number of guest drivers that would accompany me and John Stevenson during the racing season.  We ran and finished every race in the 2004 season with the exception of the Homestead race in September.    The car ran well for all of the races it was entered in.   The car was retired from racing in 2005 entering the collection of the late John Stevenson.  In 2006 John's crew chief installed a fresh Porsche Motorsport built 3.8 engine.    The spare parts from that rebuild are included in the sale of the car.

The #57 sat in John's collection in North Carolina not turning a wheel until his passing in 2017.  We acquired the car in early 2018 and began the process of bringing the car back to life for competition.

This is a fully prepped FIA ACO Factory built Porsche Racecar.  Here is a link to the history of the vin:

The front bumper cover was replaced during several racing events, Left rear quarter flare has been replaced several times during racing incidents but NONE of the unit body has been damaged enough to need repairing.  All sheetmetal is original to this chassis.

The signal from the ECM to the Stack dash is not getting a good signal.  I am told a new map from PMS should fix the issue.

March 2019 we installed new Premier Bladder, new wheel bearings on all 4 corners, replaced control arms where necessary, replaced steering rack, replaced tie rods, replaced harnesses  - good until 2023, replaced battery operated fire system.  Oil & filter, Gear oil, brake fluid flush.  The engine has approximately 6 hours on the 2006 Porsche Motorsport 3.8 build.   The gearbox was built by BMC&G and has long gears in it in preparation for Daytona; having approximately 6 hours on it as well.

Extensive spare package.  Spare Engine with unknown number of hours.  Spare gearbox with unknown number of hours.  Spare radiators - new and old.  Spare shocks - Penske and Motons.  Spare Springs.  Spare Rotors.  Spare pads.  Spare fender liners.  Spare flares.  Spare Driver door.  Spare bumper covers front and rear.  ACO Undertray.

Buyer will need to bring at least a 40' trailer to retrieve all of the parts, wheels, spares that accompany the car.
