The Ford Escort gained worldwide fame after winning the 1970 London to Mexico rally in the hands of Hannu Mikkola and Gunnar Palm. 

Ford quickly recognized the market potential for affordable rally cars and initiated a special division named “Advanced Vehicle Operations” that converted standard road cars for competition use. The RS2000 is arguably the most drivable of all Escorts produced and even today a genuine AVO car is highly desirable due to its build quality, strength and potential for further tuning.  

The car we are offering is a genuine AVO car from 1974 and was prepared by a leading Escort specialist of The Netherlands to extreme high standards for Historic Rallying.
