Description:
We sell a Renault Clio B (2) RS Sport - as a rare "172 Cup" - RHD (right hand drive) with German registration and converted to a little racer, invested a lot!
The "172 Cup" was built exclusively for the UK market: According to our research there were only 2,236 examples - probably not many of them survived. This Renault Clio is already rare, is a lot of fun and has the potential to increase in value.
The 172 Cup stands out in particular because it was built consistently - quasi as a "club sport": Without ABS, without ESP, no air conditioning, no xenon, no rain or light sensor. This makes it much lighter than the Clio B RS Sport.
It is NOT a Clio CUP car - it is a 172 CUP, was built as a road car for the UK market. FYI: Car has a manual gearbox.
This interesting vehicle was imported directly from the UK to Germany in January 2019.
Immediately the vehicle received various modifications:
- Chassis conversion to AP coilover suspension
- Driver and passenger seat "SPARCO Sprint FIA" - homologated until 2022
- Roll bar of the company PLEIE made of aluminium - with certificate
- Brake discs and pads from BREMBO
- 4-point harnesses from SCHROTH with ECE approval
- Spacers from EIBACH (30 mm on front axle, 32 mm on rear axle)
- Domstrebe front and rear from WIECHERS
- Torque arm from POWERFLEX
- Engine mounts from POWERFLEX
- Control arm from POWERFLEX
- Brake lines STAHLFLEX with ABE
- Oil pressure and oil temperature display of RAID HP (in the radio slot - radio cabling is still available)
- Oil filter flange of RAID HP
- Voltmeter
- Airbox from BMC CDA Carbon Airbox
- Federal 595 RS-R Semislicks (205/45 R16)
- original tyres 195/45 R16
- Some of the changes are already entered in the vehicle documents or do not require registration (ABE). Some changes should - when using the vehicle in Germany - still be entered.
- The original interior linings, headliner, rear seat bench, etc. are available and are supplied with the vehicle.
Various work has been done:
- Brake lines renewed
- Cathedral bearing front and rear renewed
- Drive shaft right new
- Wheel bearing front right new
- Wheel hub right new
- Various seals new
- Cambelt changed
- Water pump new
- Belt tensioner new
- V-belt new
- Changed oil filter
- Rear windscreen wiper has been removed
- Bonnet latch modified
- Transmission oil renewed
- Engine oil changed
Current defects on the vehicle:
- Some dents on the vehicle (roof/sides)
- Oil sump leaking
- Exhaust manifold slightly leaking
The history of this vehicle in the UK is transparent and can be traced by many invoices and MOT reports.
The vehicle has German vehicle documents - TÜV (german MOT) valid until 04.2021.
