Description:
For sale here is a genuine Porsche 993 3.8L RSR M64/75 engine. Porsche made several variants the M64/75. Early versions featuring a mix of different exhaust manifolds, intakes, restrictors, and even some with catalysts and mufflers. While the initial market for the 993 RSR was endurance racing, the US saw an opportunity to race the RSR’s in sprint races like SPEED World Challenge. Accordingly, Porsche developed a sprint variant of the M64/75 engine, the final and most aggressive air-cooled 3.8L normally aspirated engine from Porsche. While the early 993 RSR M64/75 engines put out 325-350 HP, the sprint RSR engines sold through PMNA put out 400 HP.
This engine, serial number 62P85801, was produced in 1998 and sold to Joel Reiser of Reiser Callas Rennsport, a New York based team that raced factory built 993 GT1, GT2 and RSR’s in the late 90’s. Joel is widely known in the US an expert on the 993’s, serving as a National Technical Advisor to the Porsche Club of America. Joel ordered this motor from PMNA with all the available upgrades in 1998 including the Tielert 45mm slide valve throttle bodies, larger 54 mm Titanium alloy intake valves (standard RSR is 51.5mm), sprint cams, and 964 RSR type crankshaft.
After Joel’s ownership it was sold to a club racer on the east coast whom I bought it from in a package deal with a 993 Cup car. I have not run the engine, only fogged the cylinders and kept it in climate controlled storage for the past 2 years. Included with the engine is a Motec M800 programmed to run the engine, along with the milspec wiring harness pictured, lightweight flywheel, and Tilton clutch.
The engine is for sale as is for $54,000 USD. Located in Atlanta, GA USA. Available for shipping to the US personally or crated up for international delivery.
