In 1968, for the second year of production of the Camaro, Chevrolet will produce the pharaonic figure of 235 151 Camaros including 7 194 cut Z28.

The Z28s were developed for the Competition in the Sports Car Club category in Trans-Am. In order to meet the standards of the category, Chevrolet developed an exclusive engine, the Z28 of 302 ci, created by merging a block of 327 with a crankshaft of 283. The other features of the Z28 included a dual-fuel Holley carburetor and shafts specific cams. The car had a reinforced suspension, wheels of 15 and an over-sized radiator. Externally, the stripping of the car was special and different Z28 badges adorned the car. The Z28 had a very good season in 1968, especially the Penske team.

The car is eligible for the Tour Auto in which it has participated twice. She is also eligible for the Heritage Touring Cup, she finished 2nd in her category at the Golden Age, the car is able to figure well on the category podium.
