1994 genuine JTCC 'FET' Toyota Corolla Super Tourer - SOLD

This is now SOLD. Search for similar items.

Description:

We are selling our genuine 1994 JTCC Toyota Corolla AE-101 Super Tourer, one of only three made. Car is FIA homologated under super tourer rules.

Similar mechanical spec to BTCC cars of the same era. The shell has no production chassis number, only the model code ‘AE-101’ stamped into the chassis, so the shell would have originally come straight from Toyota as a new bare shell.

Raced by FET in the 1994 JTCC season, and with Docomo livery in the 1995 season. The factory Tom's team raced Corona's, so the FET Corolla's were basically the top semi supported Toyota team. Best finish for a Corolla was 6th, out of fields of around 40 cars.

Car is presented in original 1994 FET livery, but is equipped with the 1995 JTCC season aero upgrades - lower front spoiler section and rear boot mounted spoiler.

Genuine original TRD 3SGE dry sump engine, Xtrac 6 speed sequential gbox- Gearbox recently rebuilt with new 2nd to 6th gear ratios. Car has had extensive work by International Motorsport to recommission it since purchase. Basically track ready.
Was at 2019 Leadfoot festival, with the last outing at the NZ Toyota Festival.

Even today the power this original engine makes is considered very good for an N/A 3SGE - dynoed at over 180 kw ATW. Even after more than 20 years this seems to be the most powerfull N/A 3SGE in New Zealand today.

Very interesting full custom front suspension set up. Someone described it as the ultimate evolution of Toyotas ‘super strut’ system. Magnesium hubs, centre lock wheels.

***Car has New Zealand race log book but has not raced in New Zealand***

Too many things to note, but some things done are- Complete new fire system, new fuel system ,new race seat and harness, rebuilt gear box, wheel hubs, brakes, shocks have had work - everything and anything that needed attention has been done...but virtually no spares- only has one set of wheels - the wheels on it. We received no spares with the car.

The photos showing the engine covers off are old photos from during the rebuild.

The car comes with a wheel nut socket, spare incomplete correct Xtrac 206 Toyota gearbox case, used worn 2nd to 6th gearset ,original fuel system, fire system, and a few random bits and pieces.

Apart from project cars this must be one of, if not the cheapest ready to go super tourer for sale in the world? It would be hard to even find a complete original project car for this price. I have receipts for the recommissioning totalling more than the asking price of the car.

If the engine alone came up for sale i would expect it would be getting up to almost half the asking price of this car...then again i have never seen a TRD 3SGE for sale.

This is a great entry level to historic touring racing, and must be eligible for a lot of other historic events.

This car has been inspected from top to bottom, and anything and everything that required attention has been done. This car is basically 'track ready', but could do with a higher first gear for tight tracks. We wanted to gain more top end, so we replaced 2nd to 6th gears to acheive this (new from Xtrac), but we couldn't get the first gear we wanted in the time frame we had (Xtrac didn't have it in stock, but it was available in Europe), so first gear is quite low compared to second. We would recommend changing first gear as there is currently a rev drop when changing from first to second gear.

The two other super tourer Corollas that were built are both owned by one family, and it is unlikely they will ever come up for sale, so this is a very rare opportunity to buy a fairly unique car. Only two Corolla super tourers ever raced in Japan.

Normally we may consider some sort of interesting swap or deal, but we really need to concentrate on other car rebuilds, so unless someone has something very rare and interesting (preferably Mazda or Toyota related) we probably wouldn't be interested. For example-Mazda 13B MFR engine or parts, rare Toyota race engines...

The car is located in Auckland, New Zealand.

We are quite happy to help with any logistics for international buyers. the New Zealand exchange rate is fairly low at the moment, so the price is quite competitive for overseas purchasers.

Genuine sale, selling to concentrate on two other projects.

Good alternative for someone looking for a group a car?
