Race Car Transport
Iveco truck race car transporter/ motor home conversion
UPDATE (to answer a few questions):
Taken some more pictures now its emptied.
All the walls have insulation sandwiched between outside and the walls.
All walls are then boarded and carpeted.
The bed part has insulation all around, sides, below and above it.
Roof has multiple layers of insulation as well.
NO, you cannot fit a car in the back now. That picture is just to show the RAMPS, you don't have to even have the ramps if you don't want them.
Truck drives perfectly. Heated mirrors. CD player. Reverse camera. Can sit 3 in front.
All the insulation is the polystyrene type, wont ruin if gets wet and attract little nesting animals like the cheaper loft roll type insulation.
Think that's all the questions answered I keep getting :)
Here is my racecar transporter truck. Has plenty of living space, not cramped at all. Plenty of room to fully stand up and get changed etc. Was an ex DFS 13ton truck, down-plated to 7.5ton, so not really had a hard life ever. I now use it to carry all the bits needed for a race weekend, sleep in and tow the racecar. As in tents, fuel, wheels and tyres, tools and the all important BBQ. If you empty the back you can do a Wickes run to get some sheets of timber etc, they fit fine.
It is properly changed to a 'Motor Caravan' on the logbook, so HGV license not needed (make your own checks to be sure though), can go in the channel tunnel as a 'motor-home', not freight (quicker as no queuing with the trucks, usually cheaper too), goes in with the other motor-homes and coaches. Has motor-home MOT and TAX. These bits may not sound important, but really help the useability of it.
6 speed manual box. Cruise control (sometimes won't activate - rare). Limited to 90kph, but now its a motor-home, I believe the limiter can be removed? Never looked into it. But as I'm towing an expensive car (to me), never felt the need to speed my butt off :)
I've owned it 3 1/2 years and been reliable. Maintained and MOT'd locally. Never let me down. Has spare tyre in back. Battery cutoff to keep fully charged (even after 3 months stationary starts perfect, first go). Doesn't smoke and pulls fine.

Overall great truck and been home for me for 3 years. Slowly building and finishing it, work in progress while being used. Couple of bits yet to do. Wire up the hot water heater / pump (never really needed as showers on site at racetracks). All there, just needs wiring back up. Oven need wiring up. Possibly a night heater wanted, but generally racing is nicer weather, so I never needed. Can sleep 6 if people wanna crash there on floor etc.
Have some huge ramps, as used to keep car inside, and smaller living. They can go with it. They are massive, like 6/7m long. very strong. Sides need re-modifying again to store them while driving (very easy).
Reason for sale. Buying a new truck once sold, and going to redo it all but bigger :)
If you want more pictures, or of a specific area, ask and I can get them. Just message me on here and gimme your email, or call me on 01799 541928 (8am-4pm) or 07496 009553 (4pm-7pm). Texts will be ignored. Stupid offers will be ignored. 'Best price' wally's ignored. These in this condition go for much more usually, the cheaper ones are sheds you wouldn't wanna sleep in. Or they're 5-10 years older and all the chassis starting to rot. I know, I looked for ages, before deciding to do my own one.
So there you have it. Viewing recommended. Its a great truck, and description is my truck, warts and all. Perfect to get the little wiring jobs finished over the winter. It will be a shame to see it go, but I have even bigger ideas and plans for next year!
Can do on a proper invoice through work to your works if needed. But you will be subject to VAT added on then. Bank transfer or cash. NO PayPal. £500 non refundable deposit secures. Can be kept here for little while if wanted, as long as paid in full, you can collect once you broke it to your Mrs then. I can even knock up an invoice showing what you told your Mrs it cost, if needed :). Can deliver if wanted, as long as paid in full before, and all my travel costs there and back are covered beforehand.
Truck will be used until its sold. So mileage will go up a bit. If we go through my works, invoice etc then we'll need to add the dreaded VAT. Can take card / paypal if you pay the associated fees.
