Race Car Transport
Mercedes Race Transporter
Mercedes Race Transporter.
Here we have our race transporter that was used last year 2017 for our historic racing car commitments throughout the year with the trailer being completely overhauled before our season started.
Both have been kept together and dry stored in a hanger after every use.
First we have the Mercedes AXOR 1843 LS 4x2 tractor unit. It’s a 2006 56 plate Artic White unit and is a Euro 3. It’s a 12litre diesel 430bhp with a 9 speed manual gear box.
Just had a new MOT (no advisories)
31st August to 2019
Milage is 947,432
It was supplied by Mercedes-Benz Intercounty Truck & Van and comes with an extensive service history file being carried out by them also!
It’s comes compete with all book packs for the Truck as well as PDFs of most bills and servicing from new.
Once we picked up the truck we had new pads and discs fitted as of early last year, we installed the aero kit and factory side skirts to neaten the tractor unit up.
A front mounted mirror was added also.
Updates were a brand new ECU fitted and programmed by Mercedes Intercounty, and we fitted a new exhaust, pipe work, brackets and we made a custom exhaust exit to go below the side skirt.
Once all had been done with serving and fitting up we had the tractor unit completely re-painted and now sits in A1 condition. Even inside the cab it’s very together and really tidy, we have fitted a new memory form mattress to the bed as well. It has only covered with the trailer maybe 2k miles all of which very light work in our ownership so it really is well looked after transporter that looks fantastic. It’s ready to go and be used and enjoyed!
The Trailer is a YORK trailer with a 2.5Ton Dhollandia tail lift and full side awning compete with everything to set up and use (as photos)
It’s a Twin axle dual hub trailer that holds two cars easily and all equipment to stow underneath in the belly lockers of the trailer. We was able to hold two big America cars and a quad with other big equipment within the trailer itself with room over.
Also complete with a new MOT (no advisories)
31st August to 2019
Work started on the trailer during the winter of 2016. We fitted a new floor in the trailer covering the crossmembers. We actually changed the last one as its load-bearing with supporting the tail lift. We had the floor apart at the time so was easy to get to and wanted to make sure it was overkill with work it would be doing going forward.
Having the tail open we also custom fabricated a whole new rear panel to house all the tail lights, number plate and new rear lower bar complete with a full width flap to keep rain and dirt at a minimum in all weather. The whole trailer was then rewired complete with Full LED lighting (6 year existing guarantee) throughout. We also added new custom side ambient reversing lights to show side obstructions/curbs at night which are really affective.
Even the body we picked out and re fitted some new aluminium panels so it was near perfect before paint.
A new side door was also fabricated in for access to the trailer with a ladder to fit.
Plus the belly lockers and floor again were all refreshed/painted and refitted so most of it is like new!
With all the modifications and updates the whole trailer was professionally painted Artic White throughout including its bulkhead to match the tractor unit and the only addition of Vinyl for the stripe and name were added after so they can come off for any new livery the new owner would want to add.
As for the mechanical side it had new brake shoes/chambers and hub bearings, a new handbrake cable, new hoses for the tail lift again with wiring, new spray suppression panels for the arches and wheels were blasted and painted as they were also done on the tractor unit too.
All in all a very newly completed and updated setup ready to go and be used and worked right away. No expensive was spared on updating it all and as can been seen it’s a really nice setup.
We are happy to sell them separate if needed but the trailer would need to go first.
