BMW E30 M3 Race Car
BMW E30 M3 Race Car
This car was one of two cars built to race in the Belgian Saloon Car Championship (Group N) in 1988. The car was subsequently brought to the UK by Geoff Steel Racing (BMW BTCC Team) and significantly upgraded before being raced in various Championships by Geoff Steel. The car was latterly sold on and raced in the UK (Kuhmo) BMW Championship before I purchased the car in 2006.I did a few track days in the car before having a complete restoration carried out by a BMW Main Dealer in 2010. Everything on the car was either replaced or upgraded, using many original BMW Motorsport parts, including a full engine and gearbox rebuild and re-spray. As this has always been a dry stored race car it has not had any rust, which you would have if buying a converted 32 year old road car The car has had further upgrades over recent years as I have been able to source parts and now looks visually almost identical to the 1992 Bigazzi BMW DTM works car (See Pic 15) with the exception of the centre lock wheels. I do have a set of the Magnesium BBS Centre lock wheels (available by separate negotiation) if you want to complete the look (See Pic 14). It has only done 4 track days since 2010 and not been raced so is in amazing condition.

The car is sold with 2 sets of wheels and a spares package as below. As in Pic 12 I have a binder with all receipts over the 13 years I have owned the car but do not have any paperwork prior to 2006. It was purchased form Mike Walters (Owner of Racecarsdirect) If you plan to race the car, the seat, belts and fire extinguisher are now out of date but are perfectly good for track day use. As original works cars are selling for over £250K+ this represents a very rare opportunity to own a unique race car which will surely only appreciate in value.
