Osella FAF FF2000
Tom White's 1976 Osella FAF for sale due to change of hobby and lack of storage space/other project to get started.
This car needs no introduction. If you want to win the pre 1979 Class this is the car for you.
Holder of numerous Class B lap records, currently the outright Historic FF2000 lap record holder at Kirkistown. Won both races at Spa last year, lapping within 0.1 seconds of the FF2000 lap record at the drivers first visit to this circuit.
Period history known (5th in 1979 Italian Super Ford 2000 class) with some period photos, fully restored in 2014 with many new parts.
Designed by Antonio Tomaini (who became a lead Ferrari engineer for VIlleneuve) and the much respected Giorgio Stirano, this car was way ahead of it's time. Osellas totally dominated the Italian Super Ford Championship in the late 70's and this car was the basis for the extremely successful Eddie Cheever driven "Beta" Osella F2 car.
Very well balanced car with excellent handling in both wet and dry conditions. Chassis will accommodate drivers up to 6ft 4".
As well as being an extremely competitive race winning car, Osellas have added rarity and Italian "flair" making them desirable to collectors as well as drivers.
Great footage of this car in action on Youtube (eg Historic Formula Ford 2000 Silverstone round 15 or 16 I think, won a very exciting race!)
Race ready with new wets on wheels, two race old slicks etc.
3 spare nose cones (possibly the mould also)
£16,500 including wets and nose cones. May take classic motorbike/bikes in exchange/part exchange etc.
Also negotiable are a set of gearbox ratios and the original Italian spec "Group 2" big valve head with twin Weber IDF carbs and manifold)
