Sierra RS Cosworth 3 door
Full body off restoration of an original DDR Motorsport factory car first used by Frederik Balaresque in the French rally championship initially a French registered car then sold into Spain and reregistered as Spanish in the early 90's. The car was campaigned by the late Juan Luis Sarasola and later sold onto its previous owner to myself, used little and barn stored for some 15 years or so. I bought the car in 2015 when restoration commenced by taking the car back to bare shell, bead blasting and replacement of all necessary parts including floor pan. Thankfully no structural damage had been sustained over the years so most of the work needed apart from the floor pan was cosmetic.
The engine is an original but replacement with new 205 block from Cosworth along with Mahle pistons, new crank, camshafts and all other parts replaced or refurbished and built by Diego de Casa a timed served and renowned Cosworth engineer. The engine is approximately 350 BHP.
The Gearbox is an original T5 with all new close ratio Quaife gear cluster and quick shift kit built and installed by John Roberts. The differential is a 7.5 inch unit fited with a new Gripper LSD 4.4 ratio again built by John Roberts of Tommi Makinen stable.
Suspension and running gear is all new Bilstien and Group A 909 specification to original homologation spec front and rear.
I am applying for UK registration at the moment.
Seats, Harnesses and automatic FEV extinguisher system all fitted new last year so eligible for a good few years.
This car is no imposter and has just been inspected by the Spanish federation and historic papers issued, recent ITV passed (MOT) both in November 2017.
This car will be eligible for and welcomed/invited to any Legends or historic championships europe wide.
