OPEN TO SENSIBLE OFFERS
Ford Cosworth Engine 440BHP, 2 wheel drive fast road/track car. Surprisingly still road legal and Road Tax Exempt !!!. I have owned the car for the last 14 years and it has had 15 previous owners. I will regret doing this but the car must go as I have lost interest in it and I would rather someone else have the pleasure of it rather than it getting older and forgotten in my garage.
The car has been driven from Essex across to the Nurburgring Germany and back several times without incident.
The spec is as follows:
The engine fitted to the car at present is a 2.0 DOHC 16V Cosworth Turbo, running on variable boost from 240bhp to around 440bhp. Starting at the top the rocker cover is powder coated and polished, an oil breather has been installed in to the top of the cover with a one way valve on it to stop anything being sucked in. Steel adjustable Vernier’s are fitted to the cams for fine tuning (brand new set in boot). Pace dry sump kit fitted (pump on block), remote oil filter. All oil hoses are steel braided type run internally in the car. There is an easy clean Pace oil catch tank in the boot that holds around 7 litres of oil and an oil breather tank for any fumes that may occur. Group “A” coil pack with rev restrictor (adjustable Omex rev limiter with launch control). Stack fuel pressure transducer fitted to fuel rail and a mechanical fuel gauge fitted to fuel line. Braided PTFE-6 fuel lines throughout (reduced petrol smell over rubber hoses). Samco type hoses for all water and air pipes. Bailey dump valve (spare GGR Kevlar diaphragm GPA valve). Bespoke intercooler 4x4 standard ends with large core fitted to full width of car 30% bigger than standard 4x4. T4 turbo fitted with a turbo oil filter in turn fitted to a tubular bespoke manifold made by Hayward and Scott. The manifold is ceramic coated and heat wrapped. The T4 turbo is supported with a crane type rose jointed turbo hanger, also made by Hayward and Scott. K&N air filter resides under O/S wing, 3” down pipe with Stack EGT (exhaust, gas, temperature) sensor fitted, also a Stack Lambda Sensor fitted and a spare boss for tuning purposes. Pro Alloy Cosworth large core radiator modified by Pro Alloy to fit MK1 Escort with Pro Alloy twin fan kit. Pro Alloy expansion tank powder coated in black. Pro Alloy strut brace with bespoke 3 bar map sensor bracket fitted to brace. Lowered alternator bracket with new alternator. Engine has been mounted 2” rear of standard and has been chassis mounted rather than cross member mounted. The turbo is controlled by a 12 position dial which controls the boost via air to air injectors fitted on a bracket on front of the engine via a piggy back board fitted within the ECU. The boost is variable from about 240 bhp to 440 bhp. For safety the engine has an oil low pressure cut out when or if the pressure drops to low it cuts the ignition. It runs 4 x grey injectors on a modified fuel 4x4 fuel rail. The oil filler cap has been removed and sealed due to dry sump. The engine itself has been ported and polished, line honed, low compression 7:1:1 pistons have been machined for clearance on valves (by Mountune). The block is a Harvey Gibbs new motorsport block with oil injectors machined into the underside for piston cooling YBP (Mountune oil jets). New 4x4 water pump. The unused waterway within the block has been seal up with a dowel. 16 row oil cooler with braided hoses. Radiator fans have override switches for extra cooling. 3” ceramic coated down pipe to 3” stainless twin box system with 3” rolled tail pipe made again by Hayward and Scott.
