Leitch built Chassis in 2000. A true and accurate copy of this wonderful sports car from the 60's.
This car is brand new and was raced for the first time at the recent Scope Classic in Christchurch in the Vintage Car Class.
The car has a VCC Log Book and VIC also has a MANZ Log Book, MANZ COD and MANZ Roll Cage Homologation. It therefore is eligible for Vintage Racing or can also be run in Club Days and MANZ Events.
The car is built to a very high standard and is Period correct in every way, the engine is also New, built by Brian Taylor. 1700cc Down Ported Non Crossflow, Cosworth Crank and Rods, new Pistons, 711M Block, Pre Crossflow Head, New Valves and Springs which is Dry Sumped on twin 45 Webers.
This is mated to a Rebuilt Hewland MK9, 4 speed with uprated input shaft, 1" 23 spline, Tilton Twin Plate Clutch, also with the later Formula Ford style CV joints.
Girling Calipers all round with Mintex Front and Ferrodo Rear pads.
New Avon ACB9 Tyres along with correct Lotus Wobbly Wheels.
New Willians Belts, Fire Extinguisher
At the recent Scope meeting at Ruapuna the car managed a 1.38.80.
This a very quick car and will give many years of very competitive historic motorsport.
