BMW Race Days 330 Challenge
Taking to the track for the first time in 2016, the BMW 330 Challenge is a new sister series to the hugely popular and successful BMW Compact Cup championship. The 330 Challenge introduces a powerful and prestigious base vehicle to the world of BMW single model saloon racing, and promises top reliability and performance levels as well as great value.
The donor car is the E46 generation BMW 330ci, usable in both pre and post-facelift form and currently available from under £2000. Power comes via the standard M54 straight-six engine with only minor control modifications, offering an expected output of approximately 250bhp through a control limited-slip differential. Combined with a regulation lightened shell and specifically designed Safety Devices multi-point control roll cage, the 1200kg racer will offer an attractive power-to-weight ratio and position 330 Challenge cars towards the forefront of performance in one-make club saloon car racing.
The BMW 330 Challenge offers new standards in regulation control to ensure the greatest levels of performance equality between cars. The inclusion of a number of well researched “control” parts means that all competitors have the opportunity to be competitive no matter how much money and development time they spend on their cars. A fully detailed technical and build manual is provided by the organisers to allow even the most basically equipped car builder to put together a competitive race car.
With the management and support of the BMW Race Days in partnership with BRSCC, the BMW 330 Challenge is destined to grow into one of the UK’s most exciting new race series!
