Description:
T332 HU49 was constructed by Lola Cars Ltd in the summer of 1974. Driven by Indy car driver Jerry Karl in the 1974-75 US F5000 series for owner James LaBar.
Converted in 1977 to Center Seat Can-Am using Riley bodywork. Changed later to Lola designed T333 CS bodywork obtained from actor Paul Newman and Bill Freeman (Newman-Freeman Racing) when their cars were modified into the NF Spyders. Raced in Can-Am 1977-84 by Jerry Karl, Gerre Payvis, John Macaluso, Drake Olson, and David Leslie.
Later was converted back to open wheel configuration for vintage Formula 5000 using a new tub.
5 liter Chevy using a Dart block, Brodix heads with shaft rockers, Vertex mag, correct Lucas fuel injection on MacKay magnesium intake manifold.
Hewland DG300 gearbox, AP Lockheed magnesium caliper original brakes, magnesium uprights, Koni shocks, Smiths instruments, original Moto Lita steering wheel and original Lola seat.
