Supplied new in September 1993, ‘L401 FJM’ was immediately sent to Rover’s approved tuning gurus at Oselli Engineering in Oxford. With a replacement ECU and fettling to the engine and exhaust system, this development car produces circa 164BHP and was later used as the company’s demonstrator (as well as in period road tests). Sold via approved agents ‘Wyckenhams’ to its first private owner in the Scottish Highlands, L401 FJM was affectionately christened ‘The Laddie’, a name still discreetly signed to the passenger side door!

Finished in a Navy Blue, with a lighter Steel Blue leather interior and matching hood, side screens and full tonneau cover; this eye-catching Mog has had just 4 previous owners from new and covered a modest 47,500 miles. Cherished throughout its life, with no expense spared, this car is a real credit to its last keeper and the condition speaks for itself.

Well-specified when new, this ‘wide body’ Plus 4 features a number of factory options including exterior door handles, full aluminium body and wings (fibreglass components also available during this period), walnut veneered dashboard and a passenger door mirror. A fully stamped service book (10 stamps) is present along with expired MOT certificates and sundry bills / invoices for servicing and repairs. The upgraded Rover T16 2.0 litre engine performs faultlessly and the 5 speed gearbox is smooth and precise.
