FAQ's

How long does it take to fit the Dasberg X250 kit to an already assembled sand blasting cabinet?
Approximately 4-5 hours to carryout the required modifications to the Chinese sand blasting cabinet + fit the X250 kit.

How long does it take to assemble both the X250 kit and the Chinese sand blasting cabinet from the outset?

Best to give yourself one whole day for both units, taking it easy, perhaps two days at most (a weekend is ideal).

Will this kit fit to any other Chinese or variations of Chinese sand blasting cabinets?
Currently we only specify the unit/s we recommended above.  However, welcome to make contact to discuss possible fitment solutions.

What is the capability of this set up?

The list of items you can blast is vast, from mild steel to castings, iron castings, aluminium castings/casings, the list is endless.  The flow of water from the blast pump is 20,000LPH and coupled with air pressure between 20psi upto 80psi this will blast all items that will physically fit inside the cabinet.

Is this combination kit reliable?

Absolutely, the pump is the heart of the machine and is fitted with a suitable impeller to deal with the blast media within the system.  The remainder of the system a quite self explanatory, allowing small adjustment here and there to allow optimum performance. Consumables are available directly from us, such as gloves, gaskets, light lens, all at competitive prices.

What is the water to media ratio?

The Mixing chamber requires 18 litres of water + approximately 2-3KG of media (dependent on media type) + dash of inhibitor (for steels).  There is also a sight gauge to confirm the level remains within parameters during use.

What media types can be used in this machine?

Most media types can be used in a vapour blasting machine such as this.  However, there are few media types such as walnut shell and soda are NOT suitable.  The three most popular to get you started are Aluminium Oxide (medium), Glass Grit (Medium) and Glass Bead (fine).  This combination covers most basic applications to get you going.

Which media offers the brighter finishes, especially on aluminium casings?
Depending upon the grade of aluminium, the most common media is the Glass 'BEAD' series options, the bead media offers a peening process rather then a cutting process such as the grits.  Results in a bright, almost semi polished finish on alloys.  PSI setting on the air regulator is also important and optimum finish is achieved by setting a lower psi setting, such as 20-30 psi, takes longer to achieve, but the results are very much worthwhile.
