The part is made by stainless micronic filter mesh, which provides ultra-low oil resistance(pressure loss) against coventional paper filters. 

Thus you can have higher oil pressure and lower oil temperature for extra engine protection, sharper throttle response, nearly 5to8% extra torque and power, with improved fuel consumption!

Also it can be cleaned by parts cleaner sprays like photo 5, so you don't need to throw them away!
