1961 S2 lotus 7 America,  Right hand drive, imported to NZ a few years ago, (ex Vermont, USA ) with its team mate a 58 Austin Healey Sprite SCCA car HP, my thinking, drive / keep  the lotus and sell the Healey 

Having just finished the Healey and its ready to race, I decided that the one I’m going to keep.

The Lotus has been in dry storage since the mid 1980s, and is period correct to the day it last ran, It arrived engine and box out, I have fitted and assembled everything, just not started, but was race ready, when stored.

A series 948cc BMC  engine, engineered to race car in the early 1970s.

F Production, NARRC winning car 1980, A series, Sprite  race 948cc 12:1 engine,  “clean” SCCA log book,  70 results / race sheets, photos back to early 1970s. Some race build photos 1972-ish

Raced at Lime Rock, Bryar, Bridge Hampton, Moroso and Summit Point.

Built and maintained by RMC ( Ronald M Catalano )  racing, as part of a team of successful HP and FP SCCA cars that ran in the 60-80s. Ron was know for testing the rule book.

Come with (not fitted) the original front wings and nose cone, rear guards as 1961, front splitter! 

Plus spares, brakes, half shafts, diff, carb set, brakes, etc, etc… 

Needs minor recommissioning, brakes will need overhaul for safety and just getting it running, tuned. We have overhauled the master cylinders, seals on bendix fuel pumps, and basic some maintenance.

Engine components, worked SG2020 head, red competition cranks, strapped mains, line bored, beautiful rods and flat top pistons. We’re good to 7500 rpm,  114mph. 
 

 90% of a spare engine, also good, but needs assembly specs as above.

"Puke green" paint as  per 1968 Lamorghini Muira with sparkles to break up the surface-air tension.

Race numbers are hand painted, not Stick-on

No frame rust / damage, clean log book, been in a climate controlled garage forever.   A highly modified, competitive car, very-very stable.

Carries all the patina of it's last race day!
