Kirkham 427 SC Le Mans
Car or art these cars are both! Seldom does a correctly registered Kirkham Cobra come to market, the polished aluminium bodies are an incredible accolade to the staff at Kirkham Motorsports based in Utah, USA. The car sporting Le Mans brushed aluminium stripes also comes with a polished removable hardtop and tonneau cover.
This particular LHD car was imported in 2015 by its one registered owner who then prepared it for IVA in May 2016 and passing on its first attempt. The car itself runs billet aluminium suspension on a 4” tubular steel chassis replicating the original chassis from the mid 1960’s, indeed the engineering and time taken to create these cars make them greatly sought after especially in the European markets.
Power is created via a Robert Pond 427 block with a QTF 750 carburettor creating over 550bhp which is then transmitted to the road via a Tremec TKO600 gearbox. Wheels are “knock on” Hallibrand and Tyres are Avon CR-ZZ 295/50 on the rear and 245/60 on the front, making the car comfortable to drive and giving the driver the required confidence whilst cornering.
The interior floor and tunnel is lined in a deep black pile carpet, whilst the engine bay is lined with a gold heat dissipating lining with stainless heat shields. Seating is provided via traditional Cobra type leather seats with the added extra of a period type Kirkey Classic bucket seat for the driver. Brake discs are vented on all corners and Willwood callipers provide the required stopping power giving the vehicle fantastic feel and capability. MOT expires March 2022 all enquiries welcome.
