1964 BMW 1800 Ti Historic Race Car
This fantastic car has plenty of race history but has most recently been used by Goodwood for its very own Revival Racing Experience.
In our ownership the BMW 1800 Ti underwent a few basic modifications to make it much more drivable and to reduce the strain on the car when out on circuit.
These modifications include:
Fitment of 5 speed Getrag from E30 for longer grear ratios and standard syncros, a standard weight clutch and flywheel and a Cam shaft profiled by Piper Cams to 268 degrees duration. The twin 48 Webers have been restricted down to suit the cam and the Jetting has been matched to this also.
The car has been maintained to a very high standard and is ready to enjoy on track. The engine is a full race spec 1800 built by Carrera Performance using many parts from 1800 specialist Laranca Engineering. With the 316 cam fitted it absolutly sings! The engine had only compeated in a few races since it's rebuild and since then has been subject to occational and light use at Goodwood Motor Circuit. all limited to 5,500 rpm and with the taller ratio E30 box fitted.
All modifactions back full race specification are all easily done if required and the parts to do this are included within the sale. These Include:
An extremely rare and very sought after BMW Getrag 235/5 close ratio racing gearbox(Circa £3,000 value). A Scrick 316 cam shaft, Sachs aluminium clutch cover and light weight flywheel. prop shaft, release bearing and gear linkage to suit.
All other parts are as fitted when the car had its HTP papers in 2012.
The list of parts and race prep is too long to set out in this advert, veiwing of the car is strongly advised.
