TDF-Heritage is proud to offer this 1985 Alfa Romeo 185T, presented with all the necessary equipment to run, and some wonderful original pieces, including a period laptop.

History

Benetton Team Alfa Romeo campaigned the 185T in the 1985 season with Riccardo Patrese and Eddie Cheever, achieving 9th place finishes at Detroit and Silverstone. Work continued on the 185T to improve its form for 1986, with a different engine installed into each chassis. Chassis #3 was fitted with a Motor Moderni turbocharged V6 and the car is presented in this configuration today as a complete one off and a fascinating piece of F1 history.

Restoration

Chassis #3 is undergoing complete restoration with TDF-Heritage and will be delivered ready to run. The car has been stripped down and all components are undergoing crack testing and refurbishment. The monocoque has had ultrasound inspection and will be repainted in the iconic, period Benetton livery. The engine is being comprehensively rebuilt and will have dyno miles only upon delivery. The original gearbox can be rebuilt to the new owner’s specification as a 5 or 6 speed unit. A brand-new fuel cell will be installed, with up-to-date safety features and new electronic systems.

TDF-Heritage will be available to support the new owner at any event they may wish to attend with this unique and historic Formula One car. This is a fantastic opportunity to own a running car in original specification, with the option of full worldwide support by TDF's dedicated heritage department.
