Rondeau M482 Ford - 1983 Le Mans 24 Hours
We are selling a Rondeau M482 car fitted with a DFL Ford Cosworth engine. Its chassis number is 002.
This car has participated to the 1983 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans driven by Henri Pescarolo and Thierry Boutsen. Michel Ferté had be named as third driver. It was one of the three Rondeau M482 cars run under the Ford France banner. This car has qualified P16 on the grid in 3'36.060 and has retired during the race after 174 laps / 13 hours due to an engine issue. It was the fastest Rondeau M482 in qualifying and the latest to abandon during the race.
As it was the car in the best condition at the end of the meeting, this chassis 002 was conserved after the race at the Rondeau factory to get upgraded with a Porsche engine. Budget constraints however never enabled this project to materialize and this car was kept in his original 1983 configuration and hasn’t participated to further races after Le Mans.
This car has never sustained any important accident. It has been meticulously restored during the last few years by a former Rondeau technician. It has been redecorated to its original livery in March 2020. It’s equipped with an original Ford Cosworth V8 DFL (3 955 cc) engine.
This car has performed 225 km during a private test session at Navarra race track in February 2020 with professional driver Jean-Philippe Belloc, without technical issues (see attached YouTube onboard video).
This car has a Historical Technical Passport (HTP) from FIA / FFSA valid until 31/12/2027 and a FFSA technical passport. It has successfully sustained a crack test in February 2020. Original paper versions of HTP, technical passport and crack test report will be given with the car. It is eligible to be run in historic races such as Le Mans Classic and Group C category of Peter Auto race meetings.
The car will be sold with several spare parts. Complete listing of parts given with the car available upon request.
The car is visible in Toulouse in the South of France.
