This car had a comprehensive chassis rebuild about 12 years ago with certain areas reinforced eg. where the multipoint roll cage attaches.
It has been purpose-built to race with the Historic sports car club road sports class and has been raced with the HSCC since the rebuild with good results, the best being a podium at Croft (second overall) in 2013.
The engine is a 1600 Ford all steel crossflow with twin 40 Webbers, AP paddle clutch and produces around 150+ B H P (readouts available).
It has an Armtech Rev limiter and drives through a 2000E three rail gearbox.
It has an alloy radiator and oil cooler, lightweight bonnet and door panels bringing the overall weight down to around 700 KGS.
It has Protech alloy bodied adjustable shock absorbers all round, a clip on/off steering wheel and plumbed in fire extinguisher system feeding the interior and engine bay.
A short circuit 20 L alloy fuel tank is fitted with a Facet Fuel pump and a larger alloy tank for longer races is included.
Brakes are twin line with adjustable bias. Minilite alloy wheels complete the package with A048R Yokohama tyres and the car is road legal.
The car has been retired from racing for a couple of years due to the owners personal circumstances (hip replacements) but has been used for the occasional local club sprint.
