Crosslé 30F Formula Ford, ex-Eddie Irvine
Building on the success of the 25F, which set a new benchmark for FF1600 from 1972 onwards, the Crosslé 30F of 1975-76 was longer, sleeker and even more successful. The 30F won national championships in many countries, driven by the likes of Thierry Boutsen, Derek Daly, David Kennedy, Michael Bleekmolen and Eddie Jordan.
More recently, 30F Crosslés have beaten everything in Classic and Historic racing across Europe.
This particular 30F is offered from the private collection of Eddie Irvine, whose single-seater career began in a later Crosslé. Formerly part of Eddie’s Race School stable, the car has been fully restored by FF specialist Stephen Patton with no expense spared.
Original chassis is in excellent condition, with no evidence of damage or repair, and has been freshly powder-coated in original grey after addition of HANS/FHR harness mountings. Hewland Mk9 gearbox has been rebuilt inside a new main casing, and is complete with final ratios. Stephen’s engines often win at the Walter Hayes and FF Festival, and this one has been freshly rebuilt and dyno tested with no running hours. Many other parts have been replaced or refurbished including aluminium panels, GRP body, suspension parts and brakes. RT40 battery brings the car to race weight. Harness and extinguisher will be updated for 2020 before delivery.
This car is in excellent condition and ready to race, with many details reflecting the race craft and experience of its restorer.
Crosslé Car Company continues to offer original parts for the 30F and every other model. The car can be seen at the factory, a few minutes from Belfast City Airport.
