1965 Ford Mustang V8
1965 Ford Mustang (first full year of Ford Mustang production), first imported and registered in UK (according to HPI) in 1968. Built in June 1965 as a Wimbledon white hardtop with black interior and originally fitted with a 3.3 litre 6 cylinder with automatic gearbox.
Judging by past mot's it was once painted yellow and more recently the current blue/orange. Last on the road in 2011/12 with its current V8 302 engine when it was last mot'ed.
Previous owner had the intention of using the car in motorsport, the car being fitted with a V8 5 stud rear axle and multi-adjustable rear suspension. The 302 V8 was stripped and sent for pressure testing (passed) and there the project stalled due to pressure of work and other projects. These engines using a strocker kit and new heads etc can exceed 400hp.
The car comes with current V5C, the dismantled 302 V8 (as far as know complete) a rare early dashboard and door cards with original steering (no carpets/seats), 3 speed auto (fitted), V8 rear axle and multi adjustable suspension, front V8 5 stud hubs (as well as 6 cyl 4 stud hubs fitted), a set of Wolferace 4 stud wheels (for 6 cyl model) and tyres and a set of unused 5 (V8) stud wheels and tyres.
A fair bit of work for someone, but a rare chance to create something really special. We will built it ourselves if still with us later in year.
