BMW 2002 Tii G2 FIA Race car with brand new 10 yr HTP
Sadly I am selling my ultralightweight BMW 2002Ti G2 historic race car with brand-new UK HTP valid until end of 2029.
I purchased this totally rust free car two years ago from an old friend of mine living in Spain where it had been successfully raced then stored for the past 12 years. I was hoping to race the car with my son Mark and/or my grandson but my son tells me I am too old and don't have the time nor the money to do it to the level to which he is accustomed! Unfortunately, without his input and use of his Barwell race workshops, he is probably right so sadly the car must be sold.
The car was originally built and raced very successfully in Denmark (multiple Danish champion) before being beautifully converted to full FIA G2 by Denmarks leading historic F1 and sports car specialist in 2005 where the total the rust free shell was then fitted with ultra-lightweight Alpina spec 'pig-cheek' Kevlar wings, wide-body arches, bonnet, boot and lightweight windows etc. The full race spec engine then produced 200+ BHP on 45 DCOE Webers but only did three races in Spain since it was built. The cars original Danish HTP expired in 2016 but it has taken me over a year with the help of the Fia, Motor Sport UK and Barwell to get the car prepared to the correct spec and a new 10 year Historic Technical Passport (HTP) finally issued!
The car comes complete with spare block, cylinder head and crankshaft, long ratio 5 speed gearbox and many other spares and should make an ultra competitive race car in any FIA historic Championships or even a fab track day car.
