It was an all new car from the previous Mk8. Stronger chassis all new Girling bakes from the Ford GT40 and designed around the new small block chevy V8
This car H-126 was retained as a factory works car until 1966 and was driven by Jack Dalton, Bob Bondurant and Augie Pabst. In 1966 the car was purchsed by a well known racing car dealer and SCCA champion, Merle Brennan. Merle raced the car around the west coast and particularly in the Can Am series of 1968- 1970. The car was then sold to Chris Bender of Reno in 1970 and the histroy of the car is then well documented including Log books from 1976. The car was eventually in the stewardship of Mike Blackie in the USA from 1985 until last year and it was in his hands that a complete restoration was carried out
It now presents as a fantastic car with current HSCC papers
Eligible for a host of race series and of course Goodwood Revival and Silverstone Classic . When its period competition of Lolas and Mclarens are selling for over £300k this car represents fantastic value. Im only selling as Ive decided to concentrate on single seaters . Running this and my other cars was a little too ambitous !
I may be interested in p/x with a classic road car but being straight the huffaker is a give away at this money so the p/x would need to be similarly valued
Dont hesitate to get in touch and I will try to answer any questions
