Extremely rare and first time offered for public sale at the Arcurial Retromobile Auction Friday February 8th 2019 in Paris is the very first handbuilt 1971 Porsche 916 Prototype. This fully restored Porsche 916 is powered by a factory 2.9 litre RSR experimental factory race motor . It is believed this is the only 2.9 liter RSR motor produced by the factory. 

This experimental  factory hand built  916 was the first car of eleven total Porsche 916s built and is the only car with a RSR race motor and a 100 litre fuel tank. It is credited with inspiring the 914-6 and 914 series of Porsche street cars. Owned by the factory for many years, this 916 was named Brutus for its incredible power and speed and was driven by Corina Piesch of the Porsche family . 

The car has been displayed at Amelia Isaland Concours, Porsche Headquarters in Atlanta , Georgia , The special porsche collection at the Petersen Museum and was the subject of a feature story in Panorama Porsche Magazine .

This very rare fully restored and documented  piece of Porsche history will be availible at auction and will make an incredible addition to a new Porsche collection.
