IMAGE FF2b Formula Ford built in 1976 and raced in period by the woruks driver Frank Bayes. It has now just completed a ground up, last nut and bolt rebuild/restoration.  It is ready for the e new season. As expected from a car nearly 40 years old it had many curly edges that needed attention, this has been done to a high professional standard. It has a freshened Scholar Engine with new bearings and rings and a Mk 8 Hewland gearbox. The tyres are ACB10s, new on the front, used on the rears. There are 4 additional user tyres and a spare cockpit body section. All new brake and clutch lines with Goodridge flexible to each wheel cylinder. All the suspension links have been rechromed The specification is: Double Wishbone front suspension. Twin parallel links and radius rods at the rear. Wheels Weller 51/2”J .Brake Girling/Lockheed. Leght Ov 139”, width 64”. IMAGE then moved to Super Shell Building, Goodwood Motor Circuit to build the FF2 and FF2b Drivers of the FF2 and 2B included Frank Bayes, Mike (Fulmar) Taylor, Murray Dudgeon, Nick Ward, Derek Hills, David Wigdor, Flynn Whiting and many others.The wisdom of the day was to have a very stiff chassis to ensure handling performance and this coupled with the Formula minimum weight limits means the IMAGE is a very strong race care.
