This is the original MG Metro 6R4 that Colin McRae bought for his own use whilst still a Works Subaru WRC driver. The very same car the Colins talks about in his Autobiography.

A former National rally winning car that Colin bought for his own personal enjoyment.

He used it for Course Car duties during the 1998 Colin McRae Stages and was featured on Motors TV.

An amazing display of car control and a glimpse of the excitement Colin would have created had he competed in the Group B era.

Very rarely can a 6R4 be seen driven in anger with such skill and control.

It is no suprise that Colin McRae was voted the 'Ultimate British Driver' by the readers of Motorsport News 2014.

Colin’s stature and reputation make him known worldwide by a much broader audience than just Rally fans.

After using it for Course car duties the car unfortunately caught fire whilst Colin was working on it in his garage.

Originally this 6R4 was part of Tom Walkinshaw's collection during the development of the Jaguar XJ220.

It was also rallied by Tony Davies and Raymond Munro (Scottish Champion) - winner of the Sunseeker Rally.

6R4.com have recently completed a full bare metal, ground up restoration and the car is now in Tarmac Specification.

As a guide to values, the McRae family sold the remaining personal collection of Colin's cars in 2023.
